Singh is Kinng Movie Review

Movie: Singh is Kinng

Music Directors: Pritam Chakraborty

Starring: Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Neha Dhupia, Javed Jaffrey, Ranvir Shorey, Om Puri

Director: Anees Bazmee

Entertaining movie with some really interesting action sequences and some very well executed goof-ups. If you are fan of Jackie Chan movies when they show all the action scene goof-ups, this movie is full of them. Akshay Kumar (Happy Singh) is a helpful guy who manages to destroy a lot of things while trying to help others and he does it repeatedly.

Locations in Egypt are used very nicely for some songs and the credit goes to cinematographer. We are very sure that Movie Screensavers and wallpapers for this movie will be very popular.

Kiran Kher has done well with her brief appearance. Katrina looks beautiful and has definitely gained some weight. Let’s not talk about her ability to act or speak in hindi. Once again directors have managed to carve a role for her where she doesn’t have too many dialogues. What you need are Katrina’s Free Screensavers.

Singh Is King could have been better and might disappoint some people who had high expectations but it is definitely worth a watch. Be sure not to apply too much logic and brain while your are watching the movie.

We are biased towards Hard Kaur’s singing and the title track Singh is King is used beautifully as a background score in the movie whenever something ‘fun’ is going to happen. The tempo variant for the song matching tempo of the scene was well executed.

Ugly Aur Pagli - Movie Review

Movie: Ugly Aur Pagli

Music Directors: Anu Malik (or Aanuu Malik)

Starring: Mallika Sherawat, Ranvir Shorey, Tinu Anand, Shushmita Mukherjee

Director: Sanchit Khot

Though the debutant director tried very hard it was difficult to understand who was Ugly and who was Pagli in this new movie. The movie was funny in bits and pieces but overall impact was that of a randomly made/edited movie. Ranvir Shorey was good as usual, he was better than Rahul Bose in ‘feeling uncomfortable’ and also in ‘looking like a goof’. The characters Kuhoo and Kabir were not seen on the screen for the first time. The sequences where Kabir heard and read Kuhoo’s scripts were well executed and were outright funny but the director was not able to put the whole movie together.

Ranvir was funny while he drove the bicycle, he was awkward when he danced and Mallika was not bad either. Music of the movie is good and Main Tully Ho Gayi and Shut Up are topping the charts.

It’s an average movie with good leads.

Music Review - Rock on

Music Review – Rock on

Music Directors: Shankar Ehsaan Loy

Starring: Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal, Purab Kohli

Finally, pure untouched rock music seems to have arrived in Bollywood. The first ever music album of its kind, Rock On has all the ingredients required for a proper rock album and with the current scene in the film industry, these guys seem to have made a good job of it. Heavy distorted riffs, Metal tones, and trashy lyrics, the album has it all. Lets hope that the listeners are awakened to a classic music genre which still eludes India.

Socha Hai, the first track itself starts with a melodious rock tune, drum snares and fills. Farhan Akhtar and gang have sung it will all the energy that is required to perform it.

Pichle Saat dino Mein is a slow rock piece which moves through various grooves. The bass lines behind the main music are noticeable and what again strikes out are the supposedly trashy lyrics which don’t mean a thing but complete the overall effect.

Rock on!! Is the title track and in fact, the best track in the album. It is unique, catchy and filled with leads, fills and guitar interlude along with fast drum beats.

Ye tumhari meri baatein and Phir Dekhiye are two soothing and different tracks.

Zehreelay and Sinbad the Sailor are also nice rock pieces.

Music Review – Bachna Ae Haseeno

Music Review – Bachna Ae Haseeno

Music Director Duo – Vishal – Shekhar

Starring – Ranbir Kapoor, Bipasha Basu, Minnisha Lamba, Deepika Padukone

With the music of Bachna Ae Haseeno out, there are really high expectation from the music directors Vishal Shekhar. Moreover, ever since the first promos of the film were shown on televisoion, the public is wildly anticipating this album to be a chartbuster.

The opening track Khuda Jaane is indeed ear catching especially with the soft, mellow undertones that are so catchy.

Lucky boy is another typical Yash Raj track with English and hindi blend of lyrics. Quite like Lazy Lamhe or Crazy kiya re. Sunidhi Chauhan sings beautifully for this one.

Following this is a comeback track by Lucky Ali – Aahista Aahista. The man has not lost his touch. Coupled with Shreya’s rocking voice, the track has the hip retro beats of an urban song.

Jogi Mahi completes the VS touch with Sukhwinder Singh coming in. He seems to be there in every album of theirs.

Finally, the classic track Bachna Ae Haseeno pops and to say the least, VS seem to have improvised on it, without degrading the tunes.

This might not be the best music albums but has catchy tunes to boast of.

Movie review – Jaane Tu yaa Jaane Naa

Movie review – Jaane Tu yaa Jaane Naa

Directed by : Abbas Tyrewala

Produced by: Aamir Khan

*ing : Imran Khan, Genelia Dsouza, Ratna Pathak, Manjari Phadnis, Anuradha Patel

Music Director: A R Rahman

Switch on TV and you see Aamir Khan everywhere, actively promoting his nephew, Imran Khan’s debut venture, Jaane Tu ya Jaane Na. Is the hype and publicity worth the movie? As it is, for the past few years, every film which is associated with Aamir has been a hit, can this one deliver? I should …yes! For the simple reason that the film has sparkling humor, innocent emotions befitting a young college going audience, and an overall light hearted feel. Great performances by both the leads, Imran and Genelia, this film can turn out to be a smooth hit at the box office.

Jaane Tu is essentially the story of two close friends, Jai and Aditi. They are in love but do not know this fact. They have a couple of friends around them (Sandhya, Jignesh) and altogether, these friends try to revive those good old college days. The basic emotion of fun and joy, sorrow and pain are revived to show the audience how the society has moved away from them.

With such a simple story, and absolutely cool music, Jaane Tu will definitely be appreciated by diverse audiences.

Music Review – Kismat Konnection

Music Review – Kismat Konnection
Directed By – Aziz Mirza
Producers – Kumar Taurani, Ramesh Taurani
Music – Pritam
Lyrics - Sayeed Qadri, Shabbir Ahmed
*ing – Shahid Kapoor, Vidya Balan, Juhi Chawla, Om puri

The album, for starts, has great expectations. First and foremost, Pritam, who is the music director of Kismet Konnection, seems to be on a roll this year. After super hit albums like Race and Jannat, it seems that he might prove his superb caliber with this new project. The tracks of his previous albums such as “Pehli Nazar Mein” and “Jannat”, ”Lambi Judayi” are still being played on scratched disks all over the country, and most of the radio stations don’t seem to tire of them!

The title track goes by “Aai Paapi” which has Kismet Konnection peppered throughout, sets the groove of the album. The lyrics are a decent blend of English and Hindi to give it a contemporary tone,

However, the remix version of this track is much more pumping and will be a sure fire chartbuster. Shahid’s dance will definitely heat up local dance floors much like “Mauja hi Mauja”.

“Bakhuda Tumhi” is a unique track with musical influences of Pritam and Atif Aslam. Both merge nicely and coupled with Alka Yanik’s soothing voice, the result is indeed excellent. Aslam’s voice does wonders to Ahmed’s lyrics.
Another groovy number is “move your body now” which sees Shaan and Akruti Kakkar teaming up to give a totally hip, and retro track perfect for moving your body! The high tempo combines Western and Punjabi music in the right proportions without going overboard.

“Is This Love (Kahin Na Laage)” is another blended track written by Sayeed. Mohit Suri and Shreya Ghosal perform to this serene track and do total justice. After, “Tum se Hi” from Jab We Met, Suri might give another hit with Pritam again.
Overall, the music of kismet Konnection might do well on the charts if it received a decent push from the movie itself.

Movie Review – Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic

Movie: Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic

Produced By: Yash Raj Films
Direction: Kunal Kohli
Music: Shankar Ehsaan Loy
Lyrics: Prasoon Joshi
Starring: Saif Ali Khan, Rani Mukherji

The only promotional ad which served as an incentive to watch Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic (TPTM) was perhaps the scantily clad Amisha Patel son –Lazy Lamhe. But this was because TPTM is not that kind of a film. Instead, it is a heart-warming tale filled with fun, frolic and a lot of love. After the nicely told stories in Hum Tum and Fanaa, Kunal Kohli seems to have only got better and more mature with this movie for children and adults alike. This time, Kohli’s childish imagination holds no barriers and pays a visit to the fantasy land.

The story is basically about four orphans and their relationship with a self made businessman, Ranvir (played by Saif Ali Khan). His life is transformed when in a car accident, he kills a couple. After a court decision, he has to look after the orphaned children of the dead couple but does not want to. They don’t bond well and the kids desire vengeance. It is god who sends his favorite and the bubbly angel, Geeta (Rani Mukherji) to sort things out between them. What follows is a little clichéd roller coaster ride of light hearted fun. With funny ludicrous scenes, spruced up with special effects, the story is indeed well told, as is the style of Kunal Kohli.

TPTM may not belong to the original films of the day because it has a lot of Hollywood influences. However, Kunal manages to deliver a soft, humorous film, filled with melodrama and engaging scenes. Add to this the brilliantly composed music of Shankar Ehsaan and Loy, plus the poetical magic of Prasoon Joshi’s lyrics; the film is indeed Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic.

A Story Starved Film Industry

A new trend is emerging in the film industry these days with everybody trying a hand at writing out scripts for the silver screen. Everyone wants to make their own stories and this has resulted in low and contemptible cinema. It would be quite unfair to blame them especially because the focus of producers and directors is on gathering publicity and doing marketing so that they are able to make a neat profit. Caring for film making as a passion and treating it as art for art’s sake has been long forgotten.

As it is, Bollywood films are known to rip of hits from Hollywood from a long time and it will quite a while when this changes. Many known directors who claim to deliver hits consistently are actually taking their “inspirations” from western movies. Not only is the story copies, but even the background score, music tracks and even action sequences.

As a result of this, authors are turning film writers and trying to boost its image. Chetan Bhagat, a successful banker who has written two bestsellers will be writing. Another investment banker from the States has returned to this pet subject of his. Like them, many others are putting efforts to deliver hit movies.

Website Review: www.womens-clothing.biz

Looks can be deceiving and this is what came in mind when I first browsed this Women’s Clothing website. This aims to cater to all the clothing needs of a woman – right from jeans, intimate apparel, sportswear, dresses for occasions and even a whole selection of accessories like scarves, jackets and coats. In addition to this, the variety within these headings is quite vast in itself with several styles, colors, sizes etc. available for each garment on display that the visitors are free to choose from quite a huge variety of clothing for every kind of occasion.

There is every type of garment which women actually wear throughout the day. However, the extremely simple and uncomplicated interface eludes the casual buyer. This is so because there is not much content on the homepage save for the indexes and lists which broadly categorizes the type of garments that the site offers to its customers. But if they prod inside even in one of them, a whole range of clothes come up on display. The visitors can then easily add them to the shopping cart and place an order. This simplicity is enough to make Women’s Clothing a really helpful and resourceful web site.
